Retail/Hospitality

Mixed Use Hospitality Site
Location:  Ropes Crossing Boulevard, Village Centre
Description:   "The application seeking approval for a hotel licence at Ropes Crossing has been lodged bby Oakstand. The application has been posted on the website of the NSW Office of Liquoe, Gaming and Racing.  (www.olgr.nsw.au/application_noticeboard.asp). Submissions about this application can be made to the Casino Liquor & Gaming Control Authority within 30 days. The Authority encourages people to check the noticeboard at www.olgr.nsw.gov.au for the closing date for this application and advices that submissions should be lodged via the noticeboard."

Roads/Infrastructure Construction


Northern Collector Road

Location:  

Palmyra Road Entrance - Australis Drive

Description:  

Civil works are currently progressing well and it is anticipated that the road will be trafficable by June 2010. This new road will provide a signalised intersection onto Palmyra Avenue as well as secondary access points to both Barinya and Woodlands Villages. The works also include the construction and landscaping of approximately 700m creek.

Latona Crescent

Location:  

Closure of Latona Crescent

Description:  

You will have noticed that a small section of road immediately adjacent to the school has been removed. This was necessitated as a result of the proximity of the school drop off zone. Landscaping is currently underway to transform this space into a cycle way/pedestrian access through to the Village Oval.

Subdivision Development
Location: Barinya and Woodlands Village
Description:

Construction is well underway on the 69th Lot, third stage in the Barinya Village. We have also just started construction of the latest release in Woodlands Village; works will take place over an 8 week period and whilst there will be some works within Beston drive and Bradley Street, we will do all we can to make sure disruption to residents is minimised.

Regional Open Space
Location: Regional Open Space (Boulevard)
Description: We have recently completed landscaping works to the Regional Open Space at the southern extent of the site. As well as providing a pedestrian and cycle link through to Forrester Rd, this 7.5ha site provides plenty of open space for the enjoyment of residents. We encourage you to explore it! The buildings that have been retained on the site are what is left of the Beacroft Butchery. Interpretive signage telling you more about this heritage site will be erected shortly.

Oval

Location:

Village Centre

Description:

Despite the recent wet weather, the village oval is progressing well. As well as providing a multi-use playing surface for soccer, rugby, cricket and AFL, the oval development will also provide facilities for tennis, basketball and netball. works will be completed at the oval in June 2010, with the surface expected to be playable in July 2010. An amenities building, housing changing facilities, a canteen and equipment storage is planned for completion by December 2010.
