Dog Virus ALERT

To all Ropes Crossing Dog Owners

Please be mindful of the recent outbreak of Parvovirus that has hit the St Marys/Mt Druitt area in a big way. Parvovirus always hits around the summer months and this year is one of the worst years for quite a while.

It would be appreciated if you made sure your dog was vaccinated or consider having them vaccinated as this virus is highly contagious and fatal to our beloved little four legged friends. As we have so many lovely pooches in our community it would be horrible to see one of them struck down with this.

Also be considerate towards other residents that already have their dog vaccinated for this reason and if your dog does become ill with this virus let our community know as we need to keep our dogs away from that area until the virus has gone.

As we walk around our lovely community from time to time, the virus can be picked up on our shoes and we can carry it back into our homes which leaves it open for our animals to pick this virus up without even leaving the house.

Please click here to read an article which was featured in the a St Marys/Mt Druitt local paper outlining the seriousness of the virus - please take a few moments to read so you are aware of the signs and symptoms and what to do if your dog does become sick.
